Finally it was the morning of my wedding. But as I sat having a pedicure by Sarah Adams, in Cedar Lodge salon, outside the rain was hammering down. Like, it was torrential !!! We tried to ignore it and chatted about her wedding earlier that month, and she put my mind at rest. With my hair freshly blow dried, and a sparkling tiara from Hidden treasures pinned in place, I stepped outside. Then my brolly broke! Luckily the nice lady from the salon let me borrow her umbrella ( actually, I still have to return it woops!) A few more minor mishaps, we eventually piled into our Land Rover , decorated with wedding bows, and headed round to the register office. We were both excited and nervous, but when the rain eased off and we walked across to the council buildings, I did feel very glamorous! I was wearing a white fur jacket ( the little girls thought I looked like Elsa from Frozen lol) and my gorgeous wedding dress from Sue Ryder, my shoes from SOS Africa, and a vintage handbag from the Salvation Army. The ribbons on my ‘Ivy Shed’ silk bouquet and lacing up my dress, were from The Hive. And my lucky trinkets came from the Friday market. I really was a walking advert for our fabulous High Street ! My bridesmaids Amy Andrews and Naomi Wellman, and my mother Gaile Bryson had also sourced their fabulous outfits from Shepton Mallet. Wayne and my boys looked really handsome, and our best man and witness Ashton Hennessy scrubbed up remarkably well considering he was having to use his lunch break to help us tie the knot. The civil ceremony was surprisingly beautiful. The room was small but cosy, and it was really nice that I could hold my boys hands, as it really settled my nerves. That and half a Diazepam!!! Wayne and I both got teary eyed as the boys handed us our wedding rings, we said our vows, and signed the register. Outside, the sun came out as Jason ‘I don’t do weddings’ Bryant, took our fabulous pics. See them under 'photos' section. Finally we headed over to the Shrubbery for afternoon tea. Alot of people who had meant to come, had dropped out at the last minute. But actually, it was great fun having a small and relaxed post-wedding party with Amy Andrews, her son Ethan. Naomi Wellman, and her daughters Hazel and Amy. My mum, our boys and Wayne. The Wedding cake, made by local girl Sophie Futcher ( Sophie's cakes and favours' looked and tasted delicious! Amy and Naomi chipped in to buy a bottle of Prosecco, which I thought was really sweet- and it got us all a bit tipsy! I took a load of selfies in the lush toilets with the big mirror , and the kids danced and played games. Wayne popped home to change into his camos, and I also had a quick change into a red dress ( also bought in a local charity shop - Dorothy House). After that, we all headed over to our local pub 'The Vic' and waited for Wayne's brothers to arrive from Birmingham. We were really sad that, due to illness, his mum couldn't make it. But still Wayne couldn't wait to see two of his older brothers. Here are some of my personal pics from the day ! Enjoy -
